It was 4 in the morning. I got down from the bus. First thing I did was thank God, that I was alive. It is so damn foggy reducing the visibility to only 5-10 ft. I had no idea, how the driver of the bus managed to drive in such poor visibility conditions. I did not sleep the whole night, trying to keep myself alert in case something happens. But, somehow by the grace of God , I reached Jorhat safely.
After getting down the bus, the second thing that strike me was the cold. It was so damn cold and my balls were freezing like hell. I just wished for some grass to warm me up while I walk home, as I felt that I may freeze before I reach home. I was not sure whether I am going the right way or not as I could not see anything but fog, fog and fog. To top it all, I could feel the mist like big drops of drain and I was wet within seconds. At moments, I felt like running to warm me up, but how could you run without being able to see anything. So, I was walking hoping that I don't freeze in between the whole 4 km walk to my home from the bus stop.
The quilt seemed to be like some amrit to me as soon as I reached home. I slept for about an hour and started getting ready for office. As soon as I entered bathroom, I felt that it would eat me. Anyways, somehow I managed to get a nice bath and I felt quite fresh.
After reaching office, I saw that Sun God had at last decided to visit us after 3 days of absence. I could see the vapours rising up to the air from the misty grass. It was a nice sight to see. But, soon the Sun again went behind the clouds as if repenting the idea of showing up. As if saying, "It's so cold out here, I am going back to sleep under the clouds."
I hope we get some relief from the cold and my left hand feel better, as the computer will anyway make my right hand cold enough to get numb and I will have to work with my left hand.
